The Novel: Mere Presence

Brilliant, beautiful, talented and feisty are four words that describe Marcye Jones, rookie Philadelphia Assistant District Attorney.  Her career was off to an excellent start as she made her way from the infamous Municipal Court Unit to the Juvenile Court Unit.  That was the case until her encounter with the judge.  In the name of justice she would challenge any judge who was making a grave decision.  But this time she crossed the wrong judge.  The biggest case of her career as a prosecutor, a three count robbery, would end up changing her career and her life forever.

Mere Presence takes you into the spiritual realm where there is an attempt to thwart Marcy’s divine purpose.  She’s forced to face the demons of her past and present.  Fornication has a grip on her; fear, insecurity and doubt won’t let go.  Hitting rock bottom brings Marcye Jones back to her one true love.  Mere Presence is a novel of intrigue, justice, truth and repentance.

Mere Presence grabs the reader in the first sentence and refuses to let go until you’ve been riveted down a road laced with intrigue, suspense, and raw episodes of romance.  Well done Ms. Marni Williams.”

--Patricia Haley, bestselling author of No Regrets and Blind Faith, Still Waters and Let Sleeping Dogs Lie

“Marni has penned a compelling and realistic story that effortlessly flirts with street elements and dances in the halls of justice without compromising on the Biblical themes of love and redemption.  Her voice is a fresh as a revival and will take the literary arena by storm.”

--Terrance Johnson, Author of Shades of Black, Eyes of Faith and Baptism of Fire

“Mere Presence is food for the heart and soul.  When you open this book, prepare yourself for a compelling journey!”

The Novella: Call To Purpose

Call to Purpose is a fictional account of the life of Gilman Everett, III, a young man residing in Riverside, one of the projects in Wilmington, Delaware.  Gilman struggles to find a job after graduating from high school.  When Gilman receives his calling from God to minister to the young men on the street corners selling drugs, he questions his path for his life.

Similar to the story of Gideon in the Bible, Gilman asks God for confirmation time and time again.  Trough trials and tribulations of family drama, visiting jail on more than one occasion and struggling with the ills of his community, Gilman eventually finds his purpose.

Call to Purpose is a must read for every African American male and will be enjoyed by everyone.  It is a novella of repentance, deliverance, hope and salvation.
